It's really hard to surprise me.......Justin often calls me Nancy Drew because of my curiosity:) However, I was very surprised last Saturday when I thought we were going to the Dakota Lodge to pick up some material for Justin's cadaver class and found my cross country team! Apparently our booster club president had been planning the shower for quite some time and she had Justin in on it.
There was so much delicious food! Breakfast food is my absolute favorite so it was a brunch. It was so special because each family made a dish: waffles with strawberries, various french toast and egg casseroles, fruit, and of course cupcakes:) One of the mom's even made a diaper cake complete with the smallest diapers I have ever seen, which apparently won't be used for a few months after the baby is born because they are a size 2????
The three games they played were super fun and gender neutral since there were boys at the party. The first game involved everyone putting a piece of paper on their head and drawing our baby on a blanket. The winning picture that Justin and I chose is pictured below. They then had a contest where they chugged bottles and the kids joked about their buccinator muscles being sore - they must have a good anatomy teacher:) The last game was guessing who belonged to each baby picture. It was awesome to see so many of my cross country kids as babies!
The big finale came when they brought out the gift. They all pitched in and bought us the "BOB" stroller that we had registered for. It is amazing! Justin and I have been to R.E.I. at least 5 times just to test drive this thing! There are a lot of features that we love about the BOB; it rolls very easily for running / walking and has large, off-roading tires so we can keep up our active lifestyle with Baby J:)
It was an incredible day and I am so blessed to have such amazing runners and parents! Thank you so much, Justin and I are incredibly grateful. The picture below is the 24.5 week belly shot......I'm making a weird face, but you get the idea that my belly is growing like crazy:)
