Happy Family!
My first Mother's Day was so special! I spent the morning with my boys, then we had lunch with my family and dinner with Justin's family. It was great to celebrate with our wonderful mothers, for which we are super grateful for.
Omi (my mom), Caden and I
Justin and Caden did an amazing job picking out the gifts for my first Mother's day. I awoke to this sight......
Then received this necklace - a bear with diamond eyes and an aquamarine stone (Caden's birth stone) that I could wear to school so that I always have Caden with me:)
They also got me a flip photo frame full of pictures of Caden and a single frame so I had plenty of pictures to look at and show my students:) Major thanks to Justin for making my first Mother's Day so amazing. This is the picture in my single frame......
My first week back at school went really well! However, I feel about as exhausted as I did during the first few weeks after Caden was born. Having to leave by 6:30 am is brutal after staying up until 11 or 12 and waking up a few times in between! My Anatomy classes have mostly seniors so it was nice to get back in time to give them the Pregnancy & Human Development lecture and their final exam. My students were very glad to have me back so they were extra nice.....I wonder how long it will last:) I have the most amazing colleagues and it was really fun to see them again as well.
Caden and Grams
Leaving Caden was really tough. I hadn't been away from him for more than two hours since he was born and I was quite nervous about my return to work. Justin and I would not have been able to leave him if it weren't for our moms. Caden did incredible with his two Grandmas. He is such a great kid and we are so blessed that our wonderful moms took the time to watch him. Not only did they care for Caden, but they each provided us with delicious dinners on their days - SO helpful! This whole experience has seriously furthered my respect for both working and stay-at-home mothers.
