Happy Easter!

I love Easter. I love the spring weather (usually), eggs, candy, baskets, etc. Most of all, I love what Easter celebrates - the resurrection of Jesus. My parents got Caden a children's Bible with a fuzzy lion on the front for Easter and I bought the Jesus Storybook Bible for Caden before he was born. I read him the crucifixion and and resurrection stories from both Bibles, and he listened very intently! He always enjoys story time, but I was happy that he appreciated these special stories as well. We had a nice little Easter. Unfortunately, the family gatherings overlapped, so we went to my parent's house for breakfast and a walk before heading over to Justin's Grandma's house for the Smutz celebration. Sometimes it can be tough to try and fit it all in! Grams and Papa Smutz brought Caden an Easter bag with lots of fun markers, paints, and crayons made especially for toddlers. He is really excited to put his new writing and drawing tools to good use!

On Saturday we died eggs! Caden dropped the egg in the yellow dye, went in after it, and spilled the cup all over his hands and feet.......gotta love dying eggs with a 1 year old!

Caden had a little Easter egg hunt at our place when he woke up.....such a happy little guy!

We filled his eggs with raspberries, cheerios, and organic yogurt melts:) The raspberries seemed like a good idea until he dropped them all over the carpet, then walked on them....

Happy little man:)

We tried to take some family pictures.....

But Caden was NOT into smiling for the camera!

Caden with Omi and Poppi.....Sun glare on this one - I'm still working on my photography skills:(
