7/8 Months and 27/28 Months

So, I am a little behind in their monthly updates so I am going to combine May and June....two weeks late:(

Caden

Chatter. Box. This kid loves to talk! Having him be able to tell us what he needs/wants is (mostly) a blessing. He is stringing together 6 and 7 word sentences regularly. Occasionally Justin and I will look at each other trying to figure out what Caden is saying, but he typically enunciates very well. He is REALLY into telling us the colors of the lights "green, GO!" "red, STOP!" and "yellow, caution, slow down." We were driving in the car the other day and he said "red edo".....it took me a few seconds to figure out that he was saying "arrow." One of my favorite things that he does is tell me what he is going to do, then add a drawn-out O-K? ....."Mom, need eat yogurt now, O-K?"

Caden can be such a sweet little man, but he also has his terrible two moments! At least once a day there is a melt-down because he wants to do EVERYTHING himself. He pretends like he wants to potty in the toilet, but just sits there and grunts or laughs. Caden wants anything that Andie has....toys, food, attention:) He still loves kissing and hugging Andie, trucks, dirt, rocks, trains, tools, reading, taekwando, running, jumping, and his bulldozer bed. Caden really likes to eat fruit (mangoes and strawberries are his favorites right now), mac and cheese, goldfish, dry cereal, oatmeal, Chobani Champion yogurt tubes that we freeze, anything on Andie's tray, and chocolate. I just re-organized our pantry because the chocolate was on a shelf that he could reach it and he was always after it!  He is doing really well with his letters, shapes, and colors. We have been working on his fine motor skills with stringing large beads and lacing cards Grams and Papa gave him:) His sleeping has improved in the past few weeks - good thing that nap strike was just a phase! Several times I have gone into his room when I hear him awake from nap and find him sitting at his desk with a book. He always says "Oh hey mom, just readin." When we went to visit Aunt TT and Uncle Brando Cado would come down in the morning and say "oh, hey Brando" and now Brando says it every morning to TT because they thought it was so cute!:)

ANDIE

Our little lady is on the move! She rolls and scooches all over the place. She doesn't have the proper crawling form down, but she gets where she needs to go:) She's also very chatty. She says ma-ma, da-da, ba-ba, and makes lots of other noises. Justin taught her to growl (seriously) so she's been doing a lot of that too.

She's such a beautiful, happy baby! Obviously we are a little bias, but every time we go anywhere, she gets lots of compliments from strangers. That girl LOVES the attention:) Andie is a great sleeper, especially when we keep her on schedule. She is still taking two naps a day. The morning nap is usually less than an hour and the afternoon one is two and a half hours. I am still nursing her:) She is also LOVING mum-mum's (Organic rice cracker), puffs, yogurt melts, and anything else we feed her. Peas is the only thing that she isn't too thrilled about. She still likes to be held, but is getting more independent as her mobility increases. Like Caden, she loves baths and splashing water. Andie is putting everything in her mouth, but still no teeth. Justin reminds me that it the "order of eruption" not the timing that is important!

Our community has a great pool! A couple of weeks ago we had a play date with some buddies! L-R: Ethan, Andie, Lucy, Caden, Alistair

Saying bye-bye

Hugs! Don't worry, there is nothing in Caden's diaper, it's just puffed out:)

We have been a few times as a family.....little miss was a little cold the first time:(

But Caden and Dad LOVED the bucket dump!
