Bake Days

We had our traditional bake days with both sides of the family back-to-back on December 20 and 21. First up was Smutz bake day at our house....

Caden was fired up to help decorate in his new apron and hat that matched Alfred, our Elf on the Shelf!

Grams and Papa got little miss her own adorable little apron and hat too!

Andie walking with Auntie Carissa:)

Papa, Caden, and I preparing to ice Great Grandma Austin's famous pastels! Grams and Papa made them, but the recipe is from Grams's Grandmother:)

Andie got a hold of some icing.....and LOVED it:)

Caden watched some old-school Rudolph with Grams and Papa before bed

Grams and G!G! cleaning while Auntie Manda and Uncle Nonni were hard at work baking! Auntie Carissa and Drew made the delicious caramel cookies cooling on the counter:)

The next day we went to Omi and Poppi's house to bake some more! The kids were hanging out in their chairs while the girls got started:)

This girl can't get enough of rides in this wagon!

Caden needed a turn too:)

I still needed to be on my CPM machine for 8 hours a day so I spent most of the time taste testing on a reclining chair that the boys moved into the kitchen for me. I did get up to help TT, Reesie, and Nicky roll out the sugar cookies....and taste some more:)

I seriously LOVE bake days! Baking sweets while spending time with our favorite people.....it doesn't get much better. It has been since Christmas of 2009 that I haven't been pregnant or breastfeeding, meaning I couldn't/shouldn't eat dough:( I have snuck a few bites here and there, but am SO looking forward to Christmas 2015 (the year after I'm done breast feeding this third little love) when I can go wild and eat all the dough my heart desires!
