Christmas & 30 weeks

We were fortunate to have a wonderful Christmas again this year. We feel very blessed that both of our families live in the area so that we can spend time with each during the holidays. Our tradition has been that we spend Christmas Eve with Justin's family and Christmas Day with mine. New this year was that my family came to Justin's parent's open house and we went to Christmas Eve service together at Faith Bible Chapel. Then on Christmas morning Justin, Baby J, and I spent a few hours at our place opening our presents, going for a walk, and having breakfast. We are excited for even more new traditions next year with baby J's first Christmas! With that I must say that Baby J sure got a lot of gifts for not being here yet. Below is a picture of all of the Christmas presents that he received:) Hopefully he will like monkeys as much as his daddy!
Please notice how small all of the clothes are! The socks that my Aunt Karen knitted him are so tiny they fit on Justin's fingers! It's hard to imagine such a little person:)

30 week growth update: Baby J is now around 16 inches long and weighs 3 pounds. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in the uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen. Even after he's born, he'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision (normal adult vision is 20/20) – which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face so get close up if you want him to see your face:)

The socks will only fit Baby J for a few months. But their real value will come in 14 years when you need to purchase his size 12 Nikes. You can then bring out the socks and show him just how small his feet once were. Happy New Year!
