My friend and co-worker Tara made Caden these adorable little shoes.
Justin's Mom's good friend Esther crocheted Caden two hats, three sets of booties, and a blanket.
Megan's (Teri's best friend from college) mom knitted Caden a blanket.
In addition to the socks and hat that my aunt Karen knitted Caden for Christmas (pictured in the Christmas post), she also hand-stitched a quilt for Caden. The quilt is extra special because the quilting motifs were traced from my grandmother's (Caden's great-grandmother) cookie cutters that she used for her bridge club. The name of the block is "Card Trick" and the fabrics are all reproduction prints from the 1920's and 1930's. Some of the original fabrics are even on display at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum in Golden!
The message on the back of the quilt:)
The wives of two of Justin's dental school friends also made gifts for us. Kirstin (Adam's wife) made me this "hooter hider" which I use all the time!
Sarah Rose (Jason's wife) made Caden this "lovie". It's a little blanket with lots of different colors and textures.
My good friend Cathy made a scrapbook of Caden's first year. I have always wanted scrapbooks because I love the way they look, but I am not so into the actual scrap-booking! Cathy's book is incredible - complete with pages for all the major holidays and first-year milestones as well as personalized pages for Chatfield and CU! All I have to do is insert the pictures:)
I wanted to pretend that I could sew, so I took on a project of my own. I decided that I wanted to make car-seat covers to protect Caden from the weather elements (and people). I made two: one for winter (pictured below) and one for summer. Justin's parents were kind enough to lend us their sewing machine. All I can say is that this might be my last sewing project and it was only completed with a lot of help from Justin. He is seriously good at EVERYTHING!

Sara - you have some very crafty people in your life! Such beautiful things for Caden (I love the adorable shoes!). And I'm with you on the sewing. I tried to sew a duvet cover and pillows and ended up needing help from Ian...who, like Justin, is good at everything! I think you did a great job with the car-seat cover. :)
Sara! I so impressed! The cover looks great!
