Fall Fun!

Last weekend we took Caden to a pumpkin patch. We took a million pictures and he did not smile in a single one! He was a little afraid of the pumpkins and didn't particularly like being set in/on the hay for pictures. Good thing he has a short memory and LOVED the pumpkin once we got it home! Buying pumpkins at the grocery store is much more cost effective, but this pumpkin patch donated their proceeds to Habitat for Humanity so we decided to splurge on Caden's first ever pumpkin:)

Lots to update on, I am still trying to catch up from the wedding craziness! I cannot believe that Caden is 7 month old already! He is growing and learning so much each day! Big news of the week - Caden is getting his first tooth! As you can imagine, Justin is super excited - He checks on the progress of that little tooth several times every day:) Caden loves to pull himself up onto furniture and takes steps if we hold his hands. This kid is going to be walking soon....yikes!

Caden is still a very curious little guy, getting into EVERYTHING he can get his hands on. He particularly likes playing with the boingy door stops, cell phones, cords and strings of any type, and metal water bottles. He also plays the piano:)

Fall is by far my favorite season. I love the colors, the weather, and the smells. It probably doesn't hurt that both Justin and I have October birthdays. Justin is October 4 and mine is the 13th. I really enjoy having birthdays so close together! It's all about food for us......for Justin's birthday Caden and I made him cinnamon rolls in the morning, then had a little family Mexican Fiesta for dinner. Justin loves Mexican food so I made him enchiladas with locally grown green chiles and chocolate lava cakes for dessert. Justin made me my favorite thing in the entire world, carmel rolls, on my birthday.

He and Caden also bought me beautiful roses and the movie Bridesmaids, which Justin and I enjoyed after putting Caden down on Thursday. I have to say that Kristen Wigg is the most hilarious woman EVER!!!

My fellow cross country coach Jeff Mages was also born on October 13, so I made this blackberry peach crisp to share with him...it was delicious:)

We celebrated with the Smutz family on October 9:) Jackie made delicious chicken cacciatore and chocolate cake- YUM! We had an awesome birthday celebration with the Smutz family! We received so many thoughtful gifts and even put the awesome hiking backpack that Jackie and Eric got us to good use on hike up Mt.Falcon last weekend!

This was a little crazy because Justin has the first section of his boards tomorrow (Saturday). He was at school really late most nights this week practicing in the sim clinic. I had regionals for cross country on Wednesday. We are going to celebrate with my family on Sunday......we are just having an entire birthday month!
