Amanda, Carissa, and John baking away!
Caden decorated his own cookie too! He gets the love for icing from his Dad:)
Justin, his Dad, my brother, and Teri's husband Brandon went snowmobiling on Friday while we baked at my parents' house. I completely forgot the camera so I don't have any pictures to share:(Caden had a great time with Aunt Teri, Aunt Reesie, Omi, my cousins Nicky and Lindsey and Lindsey's two kids Chloe and A.J. We finally found the ultimate iced sugar cookie recipe, which we have been in search of for years! If you like almond, this is your cookie. I still think my favorite was the traditional Verschoor Spritz. My Mom made them and they were SO delicious!!!
Christmas Even we went to Grams and Papa Smutz' for an open house. It was great to see lots of family and friends, some of whom got to meet Caden for the first time! My family joined us for that and the Christmas Eve service at Faith Bible Chapel. I LOVE Christmas Eve service. Seriously, it makes me SO happy to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of our savior Jesus Christ. After church we headed back to Grams' and Papa Smutz' for a delicious turkey dinner and presents. Every year Grams chooses a story to read on Christmas and this year she read "Why I Love Christmas." We had such a great time with the Smutz side of our family:)

Getting a Christmas kiss from Grams
Watching Caden open a present! I changed into my PJ's after church:)
Caden must have known that it was Christmas morning....he woke up at 6:00! We had a nice little morning....eating cinnamon butter braid (LOVE those things!) while playing with Caden's new toys.
Excited to open his present from Santa!
Look at those front teeth!!!!
This little man is SO much like his Dad....such a little thinker:)
After Caden's first nap we headed to my parents' house for Christmas Day. Every year my Dad creates a "puzzle" where he hides clues that eventually lead to our big gift. Thankfully Justin and I solved our clues much quicker than years past.....I think it was Caden's help! All of my Mom's family came over for dinner which consisted of the traditional Swedish Meatballs as well as some new additions - Chicken Pesto and Homemade Macaroni and Cheese. We also had lots of delicious appetizers courtesy of my Aunt Bunny and incredible desserts made by my Aunt Paeleigh. We were blessed to have Reese's sister Nilda, her Husband John, and their kids Austin and Ashlynn there as well! Again, I did a terrible job of taking pictures:( I did manage to get this cute one of Caden and my cousin Calvin!
Calvin pulled Caden around in this little wagon forever! He was LOVING it!!!
Although it was a busy Christmas, it was so wonderful. Caden couldn't have had a better first Christmas! We are so grateful to have two incredible families. Caden, Justin, and I were so blessed with all of the gifts that we received. Our house looked like an episode of (really nice) hoarders after unloading all of our gifts! Thankfully, we have found places to put everything, but I must say that Caden's toys are starting to take over......
