Happy 4th!

This year we spent the morning of the 4th with Justin's family and the afternoon with mine. Going to two places on Holidays can be challenging, but Caden is a champ and LOVES to see his family. I'll admit, our life totally revolves around Caden's sleep schedule. He is a very happy, well-rested kid, so Justin and I don't mind the grief that we get:)

We had a delicious brunch at Grams and Papa Smutz' house! Crepes with fruit and eggs with sausage and yummy veggies. Grams' table was so cute and festive!

They bought Caden this cute little outfit (swim trunks and swim shirt) to wear in his pirate pool:)

Blowing kisses!

Showing Auntie Carissa how he drives his ship

Uncle John and Auntie Manda brought their dog Duke. Caden LOVES Duke and can even say his name and bark at him:)

Family Shot!

My cousin Patrick and his girlfriend Etana were in town from California, so it was nice to see them:) Caden had a great time playing with his cousins Chloe and Alex too! We met at my brother's house, because as you can see, he is out of commission after pretty extensive shoulder surgery.

Caden is ALWAYS moving!!!

This is what our little man looks like after most meals. He was having a good time shaking his hands and spreading guacamole all over Uncle Bry and Aunt Reesie's kitchen:)

I wish I would have gotten a picture of all the amazing food that my Mom brought to Bry's:( She had ALL of my favorites - fruit with her homemade fruit dip, chips with guac and queso, veggies with dip, grapes, hamburgers and brats (not for me), corn on the cob.....and my favorite strawberry cake for dessert:) It's like she knew exactly what our little girl was craving!

I made a lemon blueberry bundt cake.....SO good! I dyed the batter red and blue to make it festive:)

Last year Caden was able to hold sparklers, but due to the fires all over Colorado, there was a statewide ban on everything so he will have to wait until next year! We are very grateful to live in this beautiful country and sincerely appreciate the sacrifices made by those who protect our freedom.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!
