December 2012

December was an interesting month for us as we continued to navigate the challenges of having a 2 month-old daughter and a wild 22 month old son! Unfortunately Caden got sick for the first time (we were SO spoiled with having a healthy boy for 22 months!). He had a stomach bug and threw up for a few days, then that turned into a cold, which he gave me and Andie. Sick kids are the worst! Caden's sleep schedule still hasn't recovered! Having Andie get sick was really scary since she was only 6 weeks old. We took her into urgent care and they gave us a ball syringe to clear out her nose and have her sleep in an upright position so that she didn't choke on all her phlegm:(  They also said that we should quarantine our children so that things don't get worse:( Unfortunately, this was the day before Christmas so we had to miss out on some family gatherings this year.

CADEN
Caden is still as wild as always! The extra space for him to run around has been AMAZING! Life changing. Caden loves to dance! He still likes broccoli (only with cheese), frozen yogurt (we freeze yogurt packets), frozen berries, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, guacamole, and MILK! Most kids have tapered their milk drinking by this age, but Caden is very much like his parents in his milk drinking habits:) He likes to wrestle with Dad, play with trucks, balls, and trains. He adores Andie and just loves to kiss, hold, and feed her. His vocabulary is still exploding! He amazes us every day with all of the new words that he learns and has a few three and four word sentences that he regularly uses. He is such a parrot, so we are careful about our word choice:) He LOVES to sing his ABC's (I-N are a little fuzzy) and count to twenty (sometimes forgets seven, fourteen, seventeen) but we are getting there! He can recognize all of the letters of the alphabet when we go through his flash cards. His favorite books are the Froggy series by Jonathan London and his favorite songs are Wheels on the Bus, the Alphabet Song, and Deep and Wide.

Playing elf in the hat that Leah made:)

Drinking milky

Caden asks for pancakes almost every morning! However, he doesn't really eat them, he just likes to crack the eggs and help Justin flip them:)

Caden is still VERY much into reading! Here he is reading the book than Uncle Brando recorded for him last Christmas:)

ANDIE

Andie is a happy, growing girl! She is still waking up twice to eat at night, and usually goes right back to sleep. About twice a week she decides that she wants to hang out, smile, and coo from about 2-4am. She's too cute to ignore so we have had some quality time together:) She hates tummy time, loves soft blankets around her face, being swaddled with her arms out, and the pacifier. She will let us know right away when her diaper is dirty......Seriously, our children are already SO different!

This girl LOVES her baths, just like her brother!

Getting ready to show off her right hook:)

LOVE the position of her little hands!

Two beautiful girls! Andie actually looks A LOT like TT did when she was little:)

Uncle Brando staged this picture. Andie slept MUCH better than usual with Caden's footballs close:)
