23 months and 12 weeks

The little ones are growing fast! Today Caden is 23 months and Andie is 12 weeks!

Caden is still a little motor mouth. He loves to say "hmmmm" and think a little after being asked a question. He is getting really good at saying please, thank you, and I love you. His favorite though is saying "IT IS_______". He fills in the blank with hot, cold, stinky, etc. He likes to say "mmmmm, it tastes good" when he drinks his milk in the morning:) He still loves to kiss Andie and is so sweet when he whispers (not really a whisper) "shhhh, sissy sleeping" and almost always wakes her up! He loves to hold, feed, and play with Andie:)

Watching a snowmobiling video together!

Learning to share bath time with sissy:)

Caden still loves to pay with trucks, trains, and balls. He usually sleeps 1.5-3 hours at nap time and 11-12 hours at night. He sleeps with four "babies"....angel dear blanket animals. The giraffe is his fav:) Don;t be fooled my friends, these things are MUCH smaller in real life.....maybe 12inx12in?

Unfortunately we have ALL been sick:( Caden got the worst of it....after a few days of having a nasty cold he got a fever and started puking and having other yucky symptoms. Poor little guy! Andie and I have just had the cold, but Caden passed a milder version of his stomach bug to Justin:( It has been a rough week in our house! Not much sleep and A LOT of laundry! It's SO hard to see your kids not feeling well. Caden is such a little trooper. He tries so hard to laugh and smile, but his energy level was much lower than usual:(

Since Justin is down, I called my Mom to come over and we took Caden to the Lowe's Build and Grow clinic this morning.

I'm not the best nailer, so we bought the hammer and brought the kit home for Caden and Justin to build together.....we tried:)

Andie rolled over! She did it last Sunday at 11 weeks and 2 days. She rolled from her tummy to her back - I think she was trying to avoid tummy time! Justin was making breakfast while Caden and I were doing tummy time with Andie (she lasts longer if she has others doing tummy time too:) I saw her starting to roll onto one side and yelled to Justin to come watch. We all cheered her on until she made the flip! It was so sweet to watch Caden encourage Andie, then celebrate with her/us when she rolled over! We were so busy cheering her on so we didn't get a video:( She did it again that day and has only done it twice since.....we will get a video eventually!

She is cooing and smiling like crazy and loves to grab toys that dangle in front of her. We moved her into 6 month sleepers because the 3 monthers were too short, and she just graduated to a size 2 diaper! Knock on wood, Andie has already gotten herself onto a schedule:)

  • She wakes between 7:15am and 8:00am, nurses
  • Morning nap an hour and a half after she wakes up (usually about an hour), nurses
  • Nurses, naps from 1:00 until 4 or 5, sometimes waking once to nurse and fall back asleep
  • Nurses, goes to sleep around 7 or 7:30
  • Wakes once during the night to nurse
I know every kid is different, but I think we learned a lot with Caden that Andie has benefited from. I recommend this sleep book to any parent. There are so many cues that will help get babies to sleep without crying if you know what to look for! It helped us get Caden to sleep well (despite some mistakes we made in the first few months), and has been great for Andie too!

We are excitedly planning Caden's second birthday party! I spent lots of nap time hours this week working on the graphics and invitation.........we can't wait to celebrate our little man one month from today!

I swear by that book too. Although the one I like is Healthy sleep habits, happy twins. Written by the same guy.
I also love that picture of Andie sleeping on Justin, so cute.
