San Diego Trip - Part I

We took the kids to San Diego for a week. There were a lot of firsts on this trip - first plane rides, first time to the beach, sea world, and the San Diego Zoo. We had an AMAZING time, but traveling with two small children is exhausting! Be prepared for a picture overload - this post is going to be split into three parts:)

Day 1 - Travel, Coronado Island, Mission Beach (right outside our house!)

First plane ride! Our flight left at 8 am, so they were up early. There was a lot of screen time on the phones and fruit snacks to make the ride pleasant for everyone:)

San Diego airport. This is how we rolled - There is no such thing as traveling light with little ones!

We rented a Jeep Cherokee, but they were out when we got there so Justin upgraded to a suburban. Andie wanted to drive:)

We couldn't check in to our house until 4 pm, so we headed to Coronado Island for some beach time. Our kids found a puddle on the way to the beach that entertained them for a good 15 minutes:)

Daddy and his little girl on the beach:)

Our little sand man!

Jumping the waves!

Family shot!

Caden could play in the sand forever!

Little miss LOVED the water!

Hotel Coronado

Our house was right on Mission Beach so we headed back to the beach after unloading our luggage and groceries:)

Day 2 - Early Naps, Sea World, Mission Beach

Both kids were a little roughed up from an early morning and no naps the day before so we hung out Thursday morning while Andie took a nap. Their tummies were a little sick so they rested while watching Monster's University:)

Cado rested outside while watching the surfers

After Andie woke up, we headed to Sea World. Dolphin Pointe was our first stop:)

Justin and the kids got a little soaked from the dolphin splashes and the kids were less than thrilled!

Then we made our way over to the Killer Whales

Caden threw up as were walking out of the killer whale show and Andie was just exhausted.....the car ride home was fun!:)

Day 3 - San Diego Zoo, Mission Beach

We went to the zoo in the morning, but didn't take any pictures except this one of Andie passed out on the way home

It was SO nice to be able to walk out our door and hang out on the beach! We headed out after nap time:)

Caden LOVED making sand angels:)

Day 4 - San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Mission Beach

Every morning we ate breakfast on our back patio and the kids waved and said hello to all the people running/walking/biking along the beach:)

Excited about the safari park!

Caden LOVES looking at maps and deciding where to go!

Our little bats!

Cooling off in the mist!

Measuring up to the gorillas:)

Petting zoo!

Andie seriously loves animals, but this particular goat didn't want to be brushed. He bucked Andie with his nose and she went flying:(

Our last stop was feeding the lorikeets:)
