Back to Work:)

Last week was Justin's first week back at school after his three week summer break so he spent a lot of time scheduling his patients. He also found time to take the Model A for a joy ride.  Grandpa Verschoor explained the Model A was "running like a champ!"  Justin really enjoyed spending time learning about the car and was especially excited when Grandpa complimented him on his smoothness of shifting.

It was also my first full week back at work and the official start to my cross country season. We didn't have kids, just meetings and time in our classrooms. To try and beat the heat we practice at 5:00 every day instead of right after school. This was nice for me because it gave me exactly 45 minutes to nap each afternoon. Did I mention growing a baby is exhausting?

I hadn't been running at all since I couldn't keep food down, but was feeling better last week so I decided to give it a go. It's SO hard for me to just watch people run! Monday went well as we just did a medium-paced five mile run. I took Tuesday off, looking forward to a good run at Bear Creek Lake Park on Wednesday. Unfortunately it was a steaming 96 degrees when practice started, but I really wanted to run so off I went.......bad idea! For some reason dealing with the heat seems much more challenging as a pregnant person. I finished the run in pretty good time but did not feel well the rest of that night or the next day. Justin wasn't very excited at my decision to run and sternly let me know that he would appreciate it if I wouldn't "boil our baby!" Needless to say I took Thursday off. Friday afternoon and Saturday morning also went well with fast-paced five mile runs each so the week of running was a success. I am SO excited to be running again! Our girls team is looking really good so I am super excited for the season.

Our transition back to work and school was interesting: we had Cheerios for dinner 3 nights and Chipotle the other. This week will most likely be just as bad since my students come tomorrow. I like to put a little fear into the Anatomy kids by lecturing at a very fast pace that even wears me out! The cross country parent meeting and "Back to School Night" are also scheduled this week. Luckily Justin went to the grocery store and bought some meals that are healthy and can be prepared quickly.

I really have to give Justin a lot of credit. In addition to managing his classes and patients, he does a lot to help me out. Since it is not recommended that pregnant women inhale fumes from nail polish and remover, Justin stepped in and painted my toes this afternoon. It was so cute to watch him paint so carefully and get frustrated when he got polish on my skin. He truly is the best husband a girl could ask for!

Good luck at school this week Sar! I'm glad to hear you're able to run again - I'm sure it makes life seem a bit more normal for you. :)

And go Justin painting your toe nails! So cute. You've got a great husband, my friend.

Take care!
