Bake Day:)

Every Christmas we have a bake day with each side of the family. This year, Smutz bake day was at our house so the kiddos could get their naps in:)

Auntie Carissa Making the famous hamburger cookies (pastels) that Grams' Grandmother used to make with her. These are a Smutz family staple and are made every year:)

LOVE, LOVE this picture of Caden and Uncle Nonni playing with one of his remote control cars:)

All ready for Christmas!

Smutz family bake day was SUPER productive: pastels, chocolate moth balls, coconut lace cookies, ginger snaps, white chocolate gorp, bliss bars, salted caramel shortbread, fudge, toffee bars - YUM! I was sick and couldn't taste ANYTHING, but that didn't stop me from trying every cookie...several times:)

Unfortunately our little ones were both sick so Justin took care of them while I went to Verschoor bake day. Teri flew in early just for baking! OK, she really wanted to see me, but baking was her excuse:) Justin is MUCH better about taking pictures.... I have no pictures:( We made the classic Swedish Christmas cookie (Spritz) and iced sugar cookies. Those babies take forever to roll out, cut, and decorate! TT, Aunt Reesie, and I decorated the cookies. The boys were in watching football and we thought of a brilliant idea - put one cookie that each of us decorated on a plate and see if they could identify the decorator. Not as tough of a task as you might think. Uncle Bryan and Uncle Brando got it right away. Luckily, my Dad was only half awake and gave me credit for the beautiful cookie that Teri had decorated:)
