We started our trip on Friday May 24. We wanted to get a fairly early start since we had a good amount of driving ahead of us. After a few trips back into the house for forgotten items and some pre-road trip pictures, we drove away from our house at 9am. Those of you with kids understand the "early" 9am departure:)
Cado and I ready to go!
Sleepy Andie and her Daddy!
I read A LOT stuff online about how to make road trips run smoothly with little kids. One blogger advised wrapping little presents to give along the way. I wrapped 39 presents for the little man! Only trouble is, now he asks for a present every time we get in the car....
We stopped a a park in Vail to run around and eat a snack
Action shot of our little outdoorsman!
Cado and Dad with the signature thumbs-up!
Daddy and his loves!
We ate lunch at a park in Glenwood Springs...it was WINDY! Cado is not a huge fan of the wind!
Nap time!
We stopped for dinner in Price, UT - Definitely a small town! Cado chased bubbles while we waited for our pizza:)
But they did have a delicious pizza place.....Big Don's. Seriously, it was awesome! I had pesto and sausage. Justin and Caden had their usual - sausage and black olive with red sauce:)
Pizza face:)! And boogers, and dirt.....
Little miss getting a bottle from Daddy. There was a lot of pumping on this trip....SO glad Justin's front windows are tinted!
We finally arrived a our hotel in Salt Lake around 9:30 PM. They were tired from a long day of travel, but oh so cute in their towels!
For some reason, we only have a few pictures from Day 2:( We drove through the rest of Utah and all of Nevada along I-80. I drove for about an hour and a half while Justin watched the Bee Movie with Cado. We stopped for lunch at Subway at the state line in Wendover. Caden likes to go to the bathroom in private, so he spent a good 5 minutes crouched under the table in Subway:) It took us a few to figure out what he was doing.....Don't worry, he still wears diapers!
Not going to lie, Nevada was rough! Luckily both kids were pretty worn out and took a solid three hour nap so we were able to cruise, so that was helpful. We stopped for dinner in Reno, NV (another pizza place - not as good as Big Don's). We also made a little stop at Baskin Robbins and headed on our way to TT and Brando's. The drive through Tahoe and over Donner pass was beautiful! We were hoping the kids would sleep, and Andie did her part until we had to pull over on the pass to change Caden's diaper:(
We finally arrived in Roseville and couldn't have been happier to see TT and Brando!!!
