From Tuesday August 2 - Friday August 5 we were in Copper Mountain with my cross country team. This is the fourth year that I have done camp with Coach Daniels. I was SO happy when Justin agreed to come because it meant that Caden would get his first trip to the mountains:) Plus I am definitely NOT ready to be without him for that long! The weather was beautiful and camp ran perfectly. It was a little more hectic for me this year. Riding my bike like a crazy person so that I could meet Justin, nurse Caden in the car, and make it to the finish line before the kids got there proved to be a great workout! Running up the double black diamond left me gasping for more air than in years past, but I made it without the kids noticing anything. I am actually pretty pleased with how quickly my body has shrunk back down after having Caden. My aerobic fitness could still use a little work, but I'm good at faking it:)
Caden was a little milk-drunk from the fast feed:)
We took Caden out on the porch while it rained right before his bath
We got home from camp Friday afternoon, did 5 loads of laundry, and packed the car up on Saturday morning to head to Grand Lake for the Smutz Family Campathon. Many of you know that Justin and his Dad LOVE camping. They usually take an extended camping trip for 10-12 days every summer. For obvious reasons, I wasn't thrilled about that idea this year! Luckily Justin's Mom and I like to camp in a similar way......in a million dollar log cabin on a beautiful lake:) Justin's parents rented an amazing cabin on Sun Valley Lake for 3 nights which gave Caden some quality time with his grandparents, great grandma (GG) Kathy, Aunts Carissa and Amanda, and Uncle John. There was tons to do - ATV, fish, hike, bike, horseback ride, play games, and eat delicious food!
Lots of attention for Caden!
Starting the trip off right:)
Gotta love the thumbs up
Jackie's Birthday is August 4th so we made her what Justin calls "Chocolate Peanut Butter Delight"
Grandma Smutz' Birthday is August 6 (our first night there) so we made her a homemade apple pie
John caught several fish....just a little smaller than Caden:)
Caden's bear friend
Caden with the bear and the beaver
Papa Smutz encouraging Caden in his jumperoo!
Grandma Smutz ready for some ATV'ing!
Amanda and I ready to ATV. It was a serious trip - the boys took us one some pretty technical terrain!
