Our Little Valentine!

We had a great Valentine's Day. Caden and I were lucky to have Justin home with us all day:) He has his last set of board exams on Saturday so his week is light as far as school is concerned. We slept in, then I made some homemade blueberry pancakes and cut them into heart shapes:) I LOVE homemade pancakes. Justin prefers Bisquick....he actually eats the batter he like it so much. Does anyone else do that?

Justin and I always got Valentine's Day presents from our parents, and we wanted to continue that tradition with Caden. We got him a Sing-A-Ma-Jig, galaxy ball, and some books. This little guy LOVES his books! Whenever he scampers off to his room, we find him pulling books off his shelf and turning the pages. Too cute! Justin and Caden also got me a little surprise......

In addition to the Valentine that I bought for Justin, I made him this little book of things that I love about him. It took quite some time because I don't have a die cut machine (yet) so I had to cut all of the letters/notes out by hand.

I have finally found Red Velvet Cake and Cream Cheese Icing recipes that both Justin and I LOVE. We both prefer a tangy cream cheese icing and I had to modify many recipes to come up with this one. Caden liked it too:) YUM!  

I had an incredible day with my boys. Justin is truly the best husband, and Caden is the most amazing little man. I'm very thankful for what Justin calls my "Smutz men."
