Caden's First Birthday

I know every parent says this, but I can't believe it's been a year since Caden joined our little family! He has brought us so much joy in those 12 months. Justin and I knew that we wanted a themed party for our little man's first birthday. After looking around on several blogs, I gave Justin a few options and he chose Frogs. I don't think he thought I would get so into this party, seeing as how I'm not (or should I say wasn't) into crafting. We love the way that it turned out and sincerely appreciate all of the help that we received from our families in making this party such a spectacular celebration for Caden. We are also very grateful to the guests who came to play with Caden on his special day:) Here are some (OK, A LOT) of pics from the glorious event, graciously held at Grams and Papa Smutz' house......

The Dessert Bar (my favorite part). There was green velvet cake and cupcakes, mini key lime pies, brownies, "dirt", iced frog cookies, frog Rice Krispie treats, gummy frogs, green skittles, green M&M's, chocolate covered marshmallows, and cake batter bark. All homemade:)

The beautiful and delicious cake. I baked the cake and made the icing, Justin cut the frog, and Auntie T piped the icing:)

We had everyone sign this book so that Caden can look back and see all the friends and family that celebrated his first birthday with him:) The invitation is on the right. The birthday hat that I made (and Caden never wore) is in the center.
