Birthdays!

Justin and I turned 30! Justin's birthday was October 4. He had to work a 1/2 day so we woke up early to make him his favorite cinnamon rolls. We also made him his favorite pico de gallo/ salsa for lunch and a homemade chocolate cake with chocolate icing. We went to the Butterfly Pavilion after nap and Rock Bottom Brewery for dinner. It was the best trip to the Butterfly Pavilion and the most amazing dinner out! The kids knew it was Daddy's birthday:) Although his "big" present was the trip to Chicago, we wanted to get Justin something to open on his birthday. He doesn't drink coffee, but LOVES tea so we got him a Keurig. He is obsessed - He drinks AT LEAST two cups a day!

Caden likes to "sample" everything we bake:)

That Sunday we celebrated with the Smutz side of our family. Grams and Papa cooked up a delicious dinner of steak, macaroni and cheese, salad, and vegetables and G!G! made her famous boiled white icing cake.

Caden put on Auntie Mana's hat and played dentist. Don't worry, she's not actually biting down....he was cracking up:)

LOVE those big, blue eyes!

On my actual birthday we had omelettes for breakfast then went to Rock Creek Farm (pictures in a previous post). We watched the Bronco game while the minis napped, then went to Garlic Knot for dinner. Can you tell we like to celebrate with food?:) Justin and the kids got me new suitcases, a beautiful white gold mother and child necklace, and a spin bike! The necklace is my favorite because Caden asks me at least twice a day, every single day "you like your necklace, Mom?" He says it in the sweetest voice, it just melts my heart! He also thinks it's "Daddy and Cado" that I wear around my neck so he kisses Justin and himself goodnight before nap and bedtime:)

We celebrated with the Verschoor side this past Friday because Uncle Bry and Aunt Reesie were back in town. I didn't take any pictures (oops!) but Omi made some seriously yummy fajitas and cherry crisp. We finished the night with s'mores on the fire and a couples board game. I think Poppi set a record by staying awake (and alert) until 11:30 PM!:)

We were talking the other night and agreed that reaching this milestone birthday was such a happy occasion for both of us because we are so happy with where we are in life:) Thanks so much to all of those who helped us celebrate!
