Chicago

Last weekend I surprised Justin with a trip to Chicago for his 30th birthday. I picked him up from work on Thursday afternoon and Papa took the kids back to their house for a weekend of fun:) We met up with two of his good friends from dental school and their wives. We had an AMAZING time and fell in love with the city! I brought our big camera, but forgot the memory card so all the pics are from my phone....

Justin getting into a Prius taxi on Thursday night....the ONLY time you will see him in a Prius:)

Since we got in late, we stayed near the airport at the Hyatt. It was a gorgeous hotel, but somehow we got a room in the "executive tower" which sounds nice, but was code for oldest rooms in the hotel! Jonathan and Kristin surprised Justin on the train the next morning and we checked into the Sheraton downtown. The boys checked us in, and Jonathan was nice enough to carry my luggage, which was purple......Kristin and I were cracking up that the boys looked like a couple:)

The amazing view of Lake Michigan from our hotel room:)

Birthday boy at a German pub. Best donuts EVER!

Mike met us for a fun time at The Second City, a famous comedy club that produced many SNL cast members. The show was HILARIOUS!

The next morning we got more delicious donuts from DO-RITE and ate them near the cloud gate (aka "the bean")

We went on the Chicago Architecture tour, and it was fascinating! Trump Tower:)

The Tribune Tower - one of Justin's favorites:)

The Willis Tower (aka the Sears Tower)

After the boat tour, the boys went to put our name in at Frontera, a Mexican restaurant owned by Rick Bayless and play with the Frisbee on the beach while the girls went to get pedicures:) The restaurant doesn't take reservations and there is a line around the block everyday at 5:00 to get your name on the list. The food was pretty amazing:)

LOVE these girls! Both Kristin and Amy are pregnant. Amy is due early November with their second and Kristin is due in April with their third! Such troopers for all of the walking we did!
