Maui - Part I

We took a family trip to Maui September 29 - October 7. It was incredible and we all can't wait to go back!:)

On the train at DIA:)

Dad thought it was a good idea to start the trip off with donuts and hash browns.....

The first flight was a quick one from Denver to Los Angeles:)

Andie was very serious about her lollipop!

We had a three hour layover at LAX so we took a bus to In-N-Out Burger to get some lunch and run around and climb:)

The flight from LAX to Maui was six hours long! I had an entire carry-on suitcase of games, puzzles, books, coloring, and snacks. They were great, and the kids' tablets with movies and games that we pre-loaded made the trip!

We finally arrived around 6pm local time, 10pm Colorado time:) Despite the late arrival, we stopped at Costco because it was two minutes from the airport. We picked up some food and boogie boards! Then we were all hungry (again) so we grabbed some chicken nuggets from Wendy's. The kids loved them! Caden said they tasted just like the McDonald's hash brown he had eaten that morning!?!?

Such a helper! We bought travel car seats and car seat bags because it was the same price as renting the car seats from the car rental company....bonus that we were able to stuff all of our snorkel gear in the car seat bags and they check for free!

We travel light;)

The four-hour time difference made for a few EARLY mornings! But we were all happy to explore our new surroundings:)

Caden placed the flower:)

We stayed at an incredible resort called Honua Kai, that was recommended by our friends:)

Early morning selfie:)

Our first day we ventured to the Surfing Goat Dairy Farm. They're award-winning Chevre "Udderly Delicious" was served at President Obama's 2009 Inauguration Ball. The kids had a great time feeding the goats and trying the different cheeses!

They handed out umbrellas because there was no shade and it was HOT!

We were so proud of our littles! They tried everything that was offered Udderly Delicious, Ivory Coast (Chevre with freshly cracked peppercorns), Rolling Green (Chevre with fresh garlic chives), Sriracha (Chevre with Sriracha and cumin), and plain quark (similar in texture to sour cream), and they're favorite the Ping Pong Balls (a Chevre hand rolled into balls and marinated in garlic).

We stopped for lunch at the Kula Bistro after leaving the Surfing Goat Dairy Farm. The food was good, and the desserts were gorgeous! We each ordered our own - Justin got white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, I got banana cream pie, Caden had a brownie,  so sad that we don't have any pictures:( We then headed back to our resort to play on the beach!

The Boogie boards that we picked up from Costco!

Burying each other in the sand!

Caden pretty well mastered "surfing" on his boogie board!

Handsome little sandman!

Dinner at Duke's! Duke's is a famous Hawaiian restaurant that's known for their seafood. Since we don;t eat seafood we found it a little over-priced for the quality of steak/chicken, but the view and convenience couldn't be beat!

More early morning walks on the beach:)

On Sunday we took a helicopter tour of West Maui and Molokai (where Jurassic Park was filmed). It was amazing and my favorite part of the trip!

Lando and I were first to board!

Andie Lou ready to roll!

So serious:)

Molokai

This is my attempt at a selfie of the whole group....aka me and Andie:) The lady that came with us was so sweet!

Windy and loud, but SO worth it!
