On Monday we took a boat out to Molokini Crater and Turtle Town. Luckily the water wasn't very rough so Justin survived the two-hour round-trip:) The first stop was Molokini Crater where Caden, ANdie, Justin, and I had a great time snorkeling! Landen literally wouldn't put his toe in the water.
Me, Andie, and Caden
Justin and Caden at Turtle Town! Unfortunately, we didn't see any sea turtles at either location. Caden did see a red sea urchin and was pretty excited about it! He also dropped his goggles, and could see them on the ocean floor:( He was pretty upset until a person with a snuba grabbed them for him:)
Andie loved it too! She cruised around on this boogie board with a window:)
Three cuties!
Sweet sister!
They served us lunch after Molokini Crate and gave us cookies on the way back from Turtle Town....Andie had two:)
It was HOT! 93 degrees - Unusually hot for Maui in October.
After we got off the boat, we took the advice of our family photographer and went to see the sea turtles at Ho'Okipa Beach. This beach has the biggest waves on the island so it was so fun to watch the surfers as well as check out the turtles!
So many turtles just beach themselves here!
Family selfie at Ho'Okipa Beach!
You aren't allowed to get within 20 feet of the turtles...you can get fined!
These two kept creeping closer and got scolded by the ranger!
It was fun to watch the kids play in the waves:)
We went to change, then headed out to Sangrita Grill and Cantina. It was pretty good Mexican food and they had Monday night football on! The kids were obsessed with these scratch books that I bought them for the trip.
A little R&R watching surfing on ESPN while we got ready Tuesday morning!
Breakfast at Slappy Cakes - a really famous breakfast spot. There is a griddle in the middle of the table where you can make your own pancakes, but we took the advice of everyone we talked to and just ordered their pancakes.
The kids all wanted to try the Cookies and Cream pancake. Justin, Andie and Landen loved it! Caden not so much, and I didn't try it. Justin and I each had an egg dish and shared the lemon, blueberry pancakes which were pretty good. It's hard for Justin and I to compare to anything to Snooze.....
Then we went back to pack up lunch and head to Kahekili Beach, which was our favorite of the trip! It was just a 5 minute drive from our resort.
First, a selfie with the homemade glasses:)
The water was unbelievable! There were just enough waves to boogie board and snorkel without getting pummeled! While walking to our spot, Andie lost a jelly (shoe) and it took her a few minutes to recover.....
Landen still LOVES playing with trucks and sand. He could do this ALL. DAY. LONG.
Justin and Andie exploring while Caden snorkeled:)
So much sand!
Andie was in the mood to pose for pictures so I took advantage!
Lunch time!
The kids were pretending to be sea turtles:)
Caden snorkeling away!
One of my favorite pictures from the trip! Caden covered in sand with his snorkeling gear and missing front tooth;)
Boogie boarding!
A little down time while we showered before dinner:)
The oldest tree on Maui - a HUGE banyan! It was located down in Lahaina...about 10 minutes from our resort.
We ate dinner that night at the at a the Cool Cat Cafe. It was diner food so there was a lot of french fries and ranch! They did have really good shakes - we all enjoyed the caramel oreo:)
